A message from Mark Nixon, Latimer Music Festival’s Artistic Director:

It is wonderful to be preparing for Latimer Music Festival 2024. In our fifth year we welcome several new artists, including The Heath String Quartet, Ava Dodd (soprano), Clelia Iruzun (piano) and Paul Sherman (double bass). We are delighted that pianists Charles Owen and Ashley Fripp, Shelley Levy (clarinet), Ruth Rogers (violin), Antonia Kesel (violin), Sophie Renshaw (viola), and Leo Popplewell (cello) have agreed to join us once again this year.

The programme, as before, is an eclectic and exciting mix of composers and styles. Each concert includes different combinations of instruments and artists to give the audience a rich listening experience. We are thrilled that Kawai Pianos UK is supporting us once again with their exceptional Shigeru EX Concert Grand Piano and in celebration of this we are presenting a showcase of young pianists from the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music. These are some of the most talented young pianists in the UK and we are delighted to be able to present them to our Latimer audience.

Each of these four concerts will be a moving and unique experience in the beautiful St. Mary Magdalene Church with its fine acoustics and intimate atmosphere which ideal for chamber music. We look forward to welcoming both old and new friends to our 2024 festival.
